How To Order

The Simplest way to order a Steel Door

To enable the correct and quickest completion of your order Design and Supply will require the following information to progress your order:-

Opening Sizes

Give us the Structural Opening and we will deduct the tolerances to suit.

The Structure

What the frame will be fixing to? Steel, brick, block, timber. (Brick fixings will come as standard unless you state otherwise).

Wall Thickness

To determine frame width. If no wall thickness is given the standard frame size of 100 x 38 will be used.

Ironmongery

Personnel or Panic Escape and any other items such as closers, stays, additional locking etc.

Personnel Doors - Double or Single door with a Sash lock and lever handles, vision panel (optional).

Panic Escape - Double or Single door with Panic Latch or Panic Bolt Escape.

Threshold

This is not a requirement. We have a wide range to choose from. The H type threshold will be supplied as standard on all outward opening doors or the B type threshold if opening inwards. You must state the threshold you require, if any even if you do not want one.

Colour

Please choose from the list of Design and Supply’s standard colours which can be found in the Colour Charts section of this website.

Door Location

Internal or External? Is the door going to be fitted near to a Coastal Area, Swimming Pool or Chemical Plant? Will you need extra protection such as Galvanized Skins or Coastal Grade paint?

Opening Direction

Inward or Outward.

Door Handing

A simple task is to decide whether the door is left or right handed is to stand in front of the closed door on the side where you can see the hinges (the pull side). If the hinges are on the right, it is a right hand door - If you see them on the left it is a left hand door.

Please Note - That the handing of the door is always decided from the position of the hinge knuckles – which will always be the pull side.

To avoid misunderstanding’s always view from the Pull Side.
